 Questions Brides Ask

What is the process that you use to clean the gown?

Each gown is evaluated individually based on material, accessories, and quality of workmanship. This will determine which cleaning method is safest. A thorough spot inspection is done from top to bottom to insure that every stain is properly treated.
Gown is hand cleaned, paying special attention to all the previously marked stains. Finally, it is rinsed cleaned based on the initial evaluation.

What is preservation?

Your completely cleaned gown is carefully packed with acid-free tissue in a museum-quality wedding chest that protects your gown from the air and light that cause unprotected gowns to yellow.

Why is your process different from others?

We take extra steps to be sure every stain, even invisible ones, has been properly treated. Spills such as soda, wine, and cake often dry without leaving a visible mark. Sugar, for example, is not dissolved during ordinary dry cleaning and caramelizes over time turning into an ugly yellowish-brown stain.

Is your wedding chest different from others?

Our trade marked Museum Care tm wedding chest and tissue are completely acid-free, not just pH neutral. Ordinary boxes and tissue cause yellowing and burn-like streaks wherever the fabric touches it.

Can I see my gown when it is in the wedding chest?

You can see your gown through an oval window made of an inert plastic that will not yellow or damage your gown.

What else can I preserve with my gown?

Your veil, headpiece, petticoat, gloves, garter, handkerchief may be stored with your gown. Shoes and accessories made with metal are not recommended in the box with your gown due to the fumes from the glue, leather and oxidation of metals.

Will you do any repairs to my gown?

We will repair gowns depending on the extent of the damage.
